Weekly food waste collections set for Chorley homes.
The Chorley concil executive are considering plans to roll out a weekly food waste collection scheme.
Councillor Eric Bell, who is responsible for bin collections at Chorley Council, said: “Residents in Chorley take recycling very seriously and we already recycle about half of all our waste.
“Almost a third of what is thrown away in our green bin is food waste from the kitchen and we want to be able to recycle this so it can be turned into compost.
“We’ve been trialling different ways of collecting the food waste and the good news for residents is that the scheme we’re looking to introduce won’t cost them a penny more.”
