Motorists win £5000 discount in electric car revolution

Motorists will be able to purchase the first of a new generation of electric vehicles with up to £5000 in Government grants from next January as part of a “green revolution”, the UK Transport Minister will announce today. Unveiling the first nine cars that are eligible for 25% funding from the Department for Transport, Philip Hammond will also confirm that Scotland is one of five areas to be successful in bidding for a £20 million fund to help pay for charging points. It will see 375 built in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Read more
